“THE CHALLENGE OF MARINE LITTER!” is a powerful short documentary that addresses the growing threat of plastic waste in our oceans. Through scientific data and a close look at the Basque coastline, the film highlights the urgency of environmental awareness and collective action. With a narrative that combines scientific rigor and visual sensitivity, the piece invites us to reflect on our role in preserving the marine environment.
In addition, the documentary is closely linked to the educational project with young people developed at MATER, in which young people learn about the threat of marine debris and become active protagonists in the search for solutions to protect the ocean. This practical approach reinforces the participatory dimension of the film's message, showing that environmental action begins with education and direct involvement.
The production was carried out by MATER, with direction by Cesare Maglioni and script and narration by Sara Lizarza. This multidisciplinary collaboration has resulted in a work that not only informs, but also inspires action and commitment among the younger generations.
