Every year, 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans. For a week, a group of around fifteen volunteer divers will free-dive in the Mediterranean to remove the waste that has accumulated beneath the surface. Holding their breath, Coralie, Jeremy, Karim and Astrid bring to the surface plastic, nets, tins and other human debris buried in the coves along the southern coast of France.
Through their personal stories and their repeated efforts underwater, this film reveals the scale of the pollution, but, above all, raises the following questions: Why carry on when you know it will all start again? Why commit, despite the discouragement? And what does this silent struggle say about our relationship with the world?
There is no guarantee they will succeed this time. But they dive in. Once again.
