With barely 24 hours to submit his work to CIMASUB, Damián Ramos decides to make the rush part of the story itself and sets about creating a short film in a flash. The starting point is a far-fetched suspicion: someone is stealing his luck. All the clues seem to point to his friend, a ‘mad biologist’ with a surprising knack for coming across some of the most extraordinary sea creatures in the Canary Islands just when he isn’t there. Sperm whales, argonauts, manta octopuses and strange deep-sea creatures feature in a hilarious series of underwater encounters and misunderstandings.
With humour, friendship, adventure and a good dose of bad luck, Un corto exprés ultimately becomes a heart-warming portrait of a shared passion for the ocean and of those companions with whom it is worth sharing that passion.
