This slideshow immerses us in a careful selection of the 100 best photographs presented at the latest edition of the festival. Accompanied by an immersive soundtrack, the images transport us to the most fascinating corners of the underwater world and celebrate the talent of photographers from around the globe, including the authors of the award-winning works.
The winners include Joan Barcia Ubeda, first prize and winner of the Barandilla de Oro award, together with the BUCEO ANILAO Beach & Dive Resort (Philippines) award; Daniel Sly (Australia), second prize and Barandilla de Plata award; and Miguel Ramírez (France), third prize with the Barandilla de Bronce award.
Also recognised are the commitment and ethical perspective of Isaias Cruz Irujo (Navarre), winner of the Ecological Awareness Award – IUCN SSN, for the most awareness-raising photograph; Félix Aguado Zabaleta (Gipuzkoa), Cantabrian Award – EITB for the best gallery on the north coast; and Merche Llobera (Madrid), Woman Photographer Award – ORAIN GIPUZKOA, for the best gallery created by a woman.
The visual journey is not limited to the award winners: it also brings together the work of renowned international artists such as David Mocholi Valiente (Valencia), Aldo Gustavo Galante (Argentina), Bingqian Gao (China), Dawn Strohmeyer (USA), Isabelle Drouet (France), Michal Štros (Czech Republic), Salvatore Gambacurta (Italy), Gaetano Gargiulo (Australia) and many more.
