At some point in their evolution, nudibranchs lost the shell that protected them and, with it, the ability to hide. Since then, they have lived with their skin exposed: they lay their respiratory system bare, steal venom from their prey to defend themselves, and even steal light. This documentary explores their anatomy and reproduction through a visible heart, beating without any protection at all – an image that sums up everything else. Filmed in Indonesia and the Philippines, Corazón al descubierto is an intimate portrait of one of the strangest creatures on the planet, and an invitation to take a closer look at what we already have, before it disappears.
