Cimasub inspires increased public awareness for the protection of marine biodiversity, and support for the creation of marine protected areas.
The communication campaigns it carries out on social networks, traditional media and social collectives, employ the most innovative communication tools and have a remarkable impact and reach.
With the effort and passion of people and organisations like CIMASUB around the world, the creation of a global network of marine protected areas, large enough to restore the ocean, the blue heart of the planet, may one day become a reality.
In my opinion, the most important thing is that without entities like CIMASUB, the documentaries and images that we underwater documentary filmmakers make would not reach the public, and would not achieve the goal of spreading the word about the need to preserve biodiversity and marine ecosystems and generate support for their protection.
Therefore, the ‘greatest prize’ that Cimasub gives to those of us who participate in the festival is the dissemination of our work, and it is for this ‘prize’ that I feel most satisfied.
On a more personal level, Cimasub has also given me another very important satisfaction, the possibility of meeting and making friends with many people interested in the same objectives as me, such as Francisco Pizarro, Nano Cordovilla, David Sánchez Carretero and many other members of the Club, as well as other documentary filmmakers and underwater photographers.
Many thanks to CIMASUB and to all the people who make it possible.
