The Plastic Ecosystem follows the journey of the "new marine life" in the oceans and their behaviours. Millions of tons of plastics litter the oceans and their behaviours are studied. The film follows different characters in the oceans, the journey of a school of plastic spoons, the behaviour of plastic bottles, the moods of plastic knives. This mockumentary also captures some surprising behaviours of plastic bags and forks that mimic natural wildlife. Divided into three different light scenarios, this film is not a conventional narrative, but a vignette of the rich variety of life in this plastic ecosystem. This film encourages viewers to be more aware of plastic consumption and also to think about the consequences and its effects on the planet.
