First of all, from the organisation, we would like to thank all the participants who have sent their works to the competition of our 44th edition of the International Underwater Film Cycle of Donostia - San Sebastián. You are the ones who make it possible for CIMASUB to be such a varied and high quality event every year. Every year the level is higher and higher and it is really difficult for us to evaluate all the works fairly.
Of course, we would also like to congratulate all the winners. They have all produced work of magnificent quality and we are proud to be able to present at CIMASUB material produced with so much love and care.
Below we present the results of the winners of CIMASUB 2020, the 44th Donostia - San Sebastian International Underwater Film Festival:
PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
- 1st prize for the best gallery, for Tobias Friedrich (Germany), with a golden handrail + txapela + ORAIN GIPUZKOA / DIPUTACIÓN FORAL DE GUIPÚZCOA prize of 300€.
- 2nd prize, for Jesus Yeray Delgado, with silver railing.
- 3rd prize, for Franco Tulli (Italy), with a bronze handrail.
In addition, the following special prizes will be awarded:
- Best Cantabrian Gallery, for Iñaki Alcalde Ayerbe, with white railing + txapela + HAMELIN Prize of 200€.
- Best Gallery with ecological denunciation, for Aldo Gustavo Galante (Argentina), with white banister + GOBIERNO VASCO Prize of 200€.
- New female photographer award, for Plamena Mileva (Bulgaria), with a white AOLDE RADIO handrail.
- New prize for promising young photographer, for Rafael Fernández Caballero, with white railing AQUA MAGAZINE.
DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION (more than 15 minutes)
- 1st prize, for "The Patterns of the Ocean - Protecting Indonesian Manta Rays" by Hendrik S. Schmitt (Germany), with golden banister + txapela + REAL SOCIEDAD FUNDAZIOA Prize of 1.000€ + ONDINA Prize (Cruise in Indonesia + 50% discount for companion + free Nitrox for both).
- 2nd prize, for "Le fleuve invisible - un trésor sous la plaine du Rhin" by Dumont Serge (France), with silver railing.
- 3rd prize, for "Boreas - Minas, Drogas y Dalí" by Carlos Virgili Ribe, with bronze handrail.
SHORT FILM COMPETITION (less than 15 minutes)
- 1st prize, for "The evolution of the species" by Rafael Fernández Caballero, with a golden banister + txapela + DONOSTIA KULTURA Prize of 500€ + OCEANIC Prize (Cruise in Indonesia + 50% discount for companion + free Nitrox for both).
- 2nd prize, for "Bali - Out of the black & Into the blue" by Alex del Olmo, with silver railing.
- 3rd prize, for "Leeward (Coté Sous le Vent)" by Van den Broeck Olivier (Belgium), with a bronze rail.
In addition to these prizes, the following special prizes are established for all audiovisual works:
- Best work produced in the Bay of Biscay, for "Unknown Bay of Biscay" by Maite Erauskin, with white railing + Txapela + AQUARIUM DONOSTIA Prize of 400€.
- Best work with ecological denunciation, for "Un mar de plásticos" by Enrique Talledo Ruiz, with white railing + Txapela + WETSUITCARE Prize of 400€.
- Best journalistic work, for "Franja litoral" by Antonio Ballesteros Marcos, with Txapela + DIARIO VASCO Prize of 200€.
- New female videographer award, for "Save the oceans" by Katja Kieslich (Germany), with white railing MATER BARCO MUSEO ECOACTIVO.
- New young promise award, for "Luz" by Victor Sánchez Sayago, with white GUIF railing.
