Summer continues to offer a unique opportunity to bring the sea closer to the public through the best in underwater cinema. Following the success of the activities held in July, CIMASUB continues in August with two new events that invite you to discover the beauty and fragility of our oceans through images that inspire, move, and raise awareness.
The first event will take place on Tuesday, August 4, in Bakio, where CIMASUB will host an outdoor underwater film screening. The screening will begin at 10:00 p.m. at the Bakea tent and will feature a selection of some of the best works presented at the 49th edition of CIMASUB. It’s an opportunity to enjoy spectacular images of the underwater world under the stars and learn about the stories hidden beneath the sea’s surface.
The second event will be on Monday, August 10, when CIMASUB will participate in a new edition of the Itsas Film Festibala, organized by the San Sebastián Aquarium. At 12:00 p.m., the documentary “Sharks. Lights and Shadows," directed by Karlos Simón, will be screened. This film invites viewers to reflect on the reality of these animals, debunking myths and highlighting the essential role they play in the balance of marine ecosystems.
Through these two events, CIMASUB continues to bring the best in underwater cinema to new venues and audiences, reinforcing its commitment to outreach, environmental education, and marine conservation.
