Free admission until full capacity is reached (no need to buy an invitation in advance). The screenings on 13 October include a total of 6 short films and 1 documentary. We will take a trip to the past to see the difference between the state of our seabed today and 50 years ago. We will also enjoy the most spectacular seabed in the Mediterranean and dive into the waters of Indonesia.
On the one hand, increasingly, the denouncement of the harsh reality of human clumsiness, which harms and damages entire ecosystems, expels or exterminates biodiversity, makes it very difficult or impossible, together with the more than obvious unsustainable overexploitation of fishery resources, blinded by bread for today and hunger for tomorrow, threaten the future of generations to come. And on the other, the optimistic and hopeful vision of light and colour, the incredible universe that is still possible to find in some places of the planet, still healthy for the development of wildlife. Often so small and tiny that it remains hidden to most eyes, and at other times, majestic and incredibly beautiful, flying over the infinite blue, enamouring and captivating everyone who gets to contemplate its delicate beauty.
This duality, nothing less, is what shows us the immense talent that comes together at CIMASUB. An underwater current that beats in the hearts of Blue enthusiasts, from all the seas of the water planet, from the Pacific to the Bay of Biscay, from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea, and from the North to the Baltic.
The photo exhibition
The exhibition of the best photographs submitted to this year's CIMASUB will be open at the ALGORRI Interpretation Centre from 6 to 16 October, from Thursday to Sunday from 10:00 to 13:30h.
24 enlarged photographs that will transport us to all the underwater depths of the world. They will show us the most curious and striking species, in situations rarely seen. The beauty of nature and the cruelty of man's attitude towards it, together in the same exhibition.
The Underwater Txikiciclo for schools
On 13 October at 10:00 a.m. in AITA MARI Antzokia. Recommended for boys and girls between 10 and 12 years old, 5th and 6th years of Primary Education.
An important pillar of this event is the SUBMARINE TXIKICICLO for boys and girls, to whom we will leave a difficult legacy, and who, without a doubt, are the last hope, and will be the driving force behind the necessary change in sensitivity. They will be able to discover this fascinating and marvellous underwater world.
Previously, educational material has been provided to the participating schools so that they can do some preliminary work in their classes before attending the event. A very specific proposal has been given to the teachers with the activities to be carried out and methodological guidelines, supported by audiovisual material. This proposal can be developed in the classroom.
The aim is to make them aware of the environmental situation and to develop attitudes of healthy and responsible consumption, and of respect and care for the environment, in order to participate responsibly in its management. To work on personal responsibility and decision-making about the impact on the planet in our daily lives. Make personal and collective decisions based on scientific knowledge.
Screenings and talks:
The aim of the TXIKICICLO SUBMARINO is to educate in respect for the sea and the environment. To this end, we offer the following content in a session lasting approximately one hour:
Screening of short films related to the current situation of the sea and how we must act to protect it. The aim is to raise awareness of the seabed and teach people to respect and care for it.
Talk focused on the problem of climate change and above all on the solutions we have in our hands to solve such a serious situation. All of this will be presented by professionals from the marine/underwater world.
