On Thursday 12 May 2022, in front of 65 students aged 14-15 years old, at the Ieso Pedro de Atarrabia Secondary School in Villava, Navarra, we held the conference "Diving among rubbish", which was given by our colleague Luis Martínez.
The pupils are receiving a monograph on climate change from their teachers and the English teacher, a regular at the talks in San Sebastian, asked us to collaborate in a talk on marine pollution.
In addition to the talk, three short films were shown beforehand; Pura Maro by Maite Erauskin, Plastikeria by Cesare Maglioni and a historical document by Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente talking about rubbish.
The students were very attentive and were impressed by the information they received. We found this a very interesting activity because in Luis Martínez's opinion "This is the best age and the best way to raise awareness of the need to take care of our planet".
