S.M.Y. Ondina reaffirms its commitment to Cimasub 2025 by offering two prize cruises around Indonesia
The Donostia-San Sebastián International Underwater Film Festival (CIMASUB) is pleased to announce that S.M.Y. Ondina, a long-standing sponsor of our festival, will once again be joining us for the 49th edition, which will take place in November, with a truly prestigious award for underwater cinema.
S.M.Y. Ondina Award – Barandilla de Oro in Documentaries and Short Films
Thanks to the generosity of S.M.Y. Ondina, the winners of the Golden Railing in the Documentary and Short Film categories will each receive a diving cruise in Indonesia valued at over €6,000, with a 50% discount for a companion. This reward further enhances the prestige of these awards and highlights the close collaboration between this vessel and the promotion of underwater culture.
About S.M.Y. Ondina: authentic diving with experience
S.M.Y. Ondina is a Phinisi-style liveaboard built in 2001 by Bugis craftsmen in Sulawesi, based on a design conceived “by divers for divers.” With capacity for 16 passengers in 8 double cabins (two of them with bunk beds), all rooms are air-conditioned and have private bathrooms; it also has 220 V continuous electricity supplied by three generators.
This vessel sails from Sorong to iconic destinations in the Coral Triangle, such as Raja Ampat, Cenderawasih, Banda Sea, Triton Bay, and Halmahera. It is an authentic, comfortable, and safe trip that dispenses with unnecessary luxuries to focus on the essentials: quality diving, exploration, and flexible treatment for all levels of divers. Its motto, “expect the unexpected,” sums up the experience: encounters with unusual biodiversity, pristine beaches, and inaccessible settings.
In addition to the two S.M.Y. Ondina cruises, we are continuing to offer awards in all categories: Silver and Bronze Railings, along with special awards that will recognize technical merit, conservation messages, and audiovisual creativity.
