The International Underwater Film Series returns to TOLOSA
CIMASUB, International Underwater Film Season, arrives, in its 4th edition, at Topic. On Wednesdays, 31st May, 7th and 14th June at 19:00h. with free admission (invitations available at the Topic box office and at www.topic.eus), in a unique opportunity in Tolosa, you will be able to enjoy the best works of photographers and videographers from all over the world, who, moved by their passion for the sea, contribute all together to show both the beauty of the oceans and their degradation, with special emphasis on the pressure that humans exert on a vital environment for life as a whole.
The event is organised by Subacuáticas Real Sociedad and the town council of Tolosa, with the sponsorship of the Department of the Environment of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. Its aim is to publicise the underwater world and raise awareness of respect and care for our seas and oceans through the dissemination of audiovisual works. CIMASUB is the channel of communication between the ambassadors of the Sea, underwater photographers and videographers, and the thousands of people who visit the cinemas where this international event is held every year.
Today, after 47 years of work, it is the longest-running underwater film festival on the planet. CIMASUB is a world reference in underwater film festivals, receiving more than 250 short films and documentaries from all over the world, more than 80 different countries in this last edition. This makes it a unique opportunity to enjoy the best works from the underwater world on the big screen, both in terms of quality and in terms of awareness-raising and marine environmental education.
The screenings at Topic, with free admission, on Wednesdays 31st May, 7th and 14th June at 19:00h. (Invitations available at the Topic box office and at www.topic.eus), include a total of 26 short films and 4 documentaries that will take us to underwater paradises all over the planet and will show us the harshness of the suffering that we are causing to our seas.
On the one hand, we will see the denunciation of human clumsiness, which damages entire ecosystems, exterminates biodiversity, and which, together with the unsustainable overexploitation of fishing resources, threatens the future of generations to come. On the other hand, we have the optimistic vision of the incredible universe that is still possible to find in some places of the planet, still healthy for the development of wildlife. Often so small and tiny that it remains hidden to most eyes, and at other times so majestic and incredibly beautiful that it captivates and captivates all those who contemplate it.
The Underwater Txikiziklo for educational centres
Our children should get to know the sea and discover this fascinating and marvellous underwater world, so that they grow up loving and respecting it. With this aim in mind, the Txikiziklo Submarino was born ten years ago, reaching more and more educational centres, with the participation of more than 2,000 students in the last edition. Dissemination and education are the best tools to save the oceans and guarantee the survival of our species.
It will be held at the Leidor at 10 a.m. on Wednesday the 7th, aimed at children between 10 and 12 years old, from 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education.
Previously, didactic material has been provided to the participating schools, with activities and methodological guidelines, supported by audiovisual material, to be developed in the classroom before attending the event.
The aim is to raise awareness of the environmental situation and develop attitudes of healthy and responsible consumption, and respect and care for the environment, in order to participate responsibly in its management. The aim is to work on personal responsibility and decision-making about the impact on the planet in our daily lives and to make personal and collective decisions based on scientific knowledge.
