‘The truth before your eyes’ in the trailer for CIMASUB 2025 in San Sebastián

The Donostia-San Sebastián International Underwater Film Festival (CIMASUB) is thrilled to present the official trailer for its 49th edition, offering a sneak peek at what promises to be a unique cinematic experience that will take audiences on a journey to explore the immensity of the ocean and its secrets.

This year, the festival is being held under the slogan ‘The truth before your eyes’, which represents the essence of the festival: to show the reality of the underwater world as it is, without artifice or science fiction. It highlights the work of underwater photographers and videographers from around the world, professionals who dive to show us what they see beneath the surface, in the seas and oceans of every corner of the globe.

CIMASUB 2025 Programme of Activities

• Three different underwater film sessions will take place at the Teatro Principal in San Sebastián on 13, 14 and 15 November at 7 p.m. The best international short films and documentaries will be screened (free tickets available only at the box office on the same days from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
• Three photographic exhibitions in emblematic locations around the city: the Garbera Shopping Centre, the San Sebastián Aquarium and the Kirol Etxea at the Anoeta Stadium, open throughout November.
• Five days of Txikiziklo Submarino at the San Sebastián Aquarium, with activities specially designed for schools in San Sebastián to encourage curiosity, respect and care for the marine environment in children.
