This year, Txikiziklo Submarino for the whole family
In the Aquarium Auditorium in Donostia-San Sebastián on 16 November from 12:00 to 13:30. Free admission to all events, until full capacity is reached.
We continue to be didactic and we want to reach all ages and above all the future caretakers of the sea, the children. And the Txikiciclo will continue to be an important part of our Cycle. As it is clear to us that the work of caring for our planet begins at home, we have decided to make a special Txikiciclo for families. So that the whole family can come together to learn first hand about the problem that exists at the bottom of the sea and above all to learn that there are solutions and that together we can begin to be part of the change.
Education is the solution. Teaching that we should consume products with little plastic, reuse, recycle and pick up rubbish from the ground if necessary. And from the Royal Society Subacuáticas, as organisers of CIMASUB, we feel we have an obligation to participate in this education or at least to transmit this positive message.
We like to think that we are a loudspeaker for the underwater world. Thanks to our 43 editions, we have become the screen that shows the public what we have underwater. We have always shown the wonders we have in the big blue, but new events have led us, little by little, every year to show things that are not so beautiful, truths that are happening in that blue that is less and less every day. TXIKICICLO in FAMILY AQUARIUM Auditorium SATURDAY 16th NOVEMBER From 12:00 to 13:30h.
For the first time we are going to give families the chance to enjoy TXIKICICLO together on Saturday morning. Up to now it has only been organised so that schools can bring their pupils in 5 sessions held on weekday mornings.
We offer short films and talks in the Aquarium Auditorium with free entry, until full capacity is reached.
Among the attendees we will raffle several gifts offered by our collaborators:
2 Real Sociedad t-shirts. 2 family packs of 4 diving baptisms in the swimming pool carried out by Subacuáticas de la Real Sociedad. 3 family vouchers for an outing on the Matter Museoa museum boat. 2 family packs of 4 tickets to visit the Aquarium. 1 family outing on a sailing boat with Navegavela. 1 family outing on a sailing boat with Oribay. Several "Plastic family" comics, thanks to Panthalassa. Maps of the seabed by AZTI.
The aim is to raise awareness of the seabed and everything that is happening in it, in order to make children aware that we must take care of it as it deserves. To do so, they will enjoy short films adapted to their age and a discussion with professionals from the underwater world.
The talks will be given by Maite Erauskin and Elsa Cuende, expert biologists belonging to the AZTI Tecnalia team and the GAEA Elkartea Association, and the Matter Museoa team. They will show, in an entertaining way, everything that is happening in our seas and how we must act to improve their condition.
In addition, the Panthalassa team will present their new project, the Plastic Family comic, a family that confronts the "throwaway" world and proposes to change it. We are the cause, therefore we should bring the solution.
