Impressive response from the pupils attending the TXIKIZIKLO in LASARTE-ORIA
The 110 students in 5th and 6th grade of primary school from the Sasoeta and Zumaburu schools attended the TXIKICYCLE and showed impressive interest. The number of questions at the end of the presentation showed that the pupils had previously worked on the subject in class, thanks to the didactic unit we sent them months before.
Climate change was the main topic and the aim of TXIKICYCLE is to make them aware that it is in everyone's hands to help alleviate it and save our seas and oceans. We dedicated all our efforts to get the message across to the youngest children, thanks to the organisation of the Real Sociedad Foundation and the presentation by the GAEA Elkartea Association.
During the visit, the children also enjoyed the screening of several short films related to the care of the sea and the problem of marine litter.
Light | Víctor Sánchez Sayago | 3 minutes * Best young promising work (GUIF Award)
Save the oceans | Katja Kieslich | 3 minutes * Best work by a woman videographer (MATER BARCO MUSEO ECOACTIVO Award)
A sea of plastics | Enrique Talledo Ruiz | 5 minutes * Best work with ecological denouncement (WETSUITCARE Award)
Bali | Alex del Olmo Ramon | 4 minutes * Silver Handrail in Short Films
On the other hand, this afternoon the photographic exhibition has been inaugurated. The event was attended by members of Lasarte-Oria Town Council, including the Mayor, Agustín Valdivia, the heads of Culture, Maite Iglesias and Xavier Goitia, the manager of the Manuel Lekuona kultur etxea, and from the Danok Kide Association, Jesus Mari Eguizabal.
The Exhibition of the best CIMASUB photographs will remain open in the Manuel Lekuona cafeteria from the 8th until the 26th of February from 17:00 to 20:50. It will take us to all the underwater depths of the world and will show us the most curious and striking species.
