CIMASUB is set to enjoy a November packed with underwater film, photography and educational activities, featuring four destinations and a very special celebration: its 50th anniversary.
November is packed with activities for CIMASUB. Throughout the month, the best in underwater film and photography will tour four cities, bringing the beauty of the oceans and the importance of their conservation to the public. Vigo, SanSebastián, Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz will take centre stage during a particularly exciting month in which we will celebrate our 50-year history.
Our first stop will be in Vigo, where we’ll be taking part in the 34th Underwater Film Week, organised by the University of Vigo. The event will take place on 4 November at 8.00 pm at the Teatro Afundación, with a screening dedicated to the fascinating underwater world.
The most eagerly awaited moment of the year will take place in Donostia, where we will celebrate the 50th edition of CIMASUB. The Teatro Principal will host three underwater film screenings on 12, 13 and 14 November at 7.00 pm, in a very special edition that will pay tribute to half a century of passion for the sea.
During that same week, schoolchildren will be able to discover the secrets of the ocean through the Txikiziklo Submarino, with morning educational sessions at the Aquarium.
In addition, underwater photography will take centre stage with three exhibitions that can be visited at the Garbera shopping centre, the Nautilus room at the Aquarium and the Kirol Etxea at the Anoeta Stadium.
The 50th-anniversary celebrations will continue in Bilbao, with two underwater film screenings on 21 and 22 November at 5.00 pm at Itsasmuseum.
The museum will also host an underwater photography exhibition from 17 to 22 November, offering another chance to enjoy the stunning images from our international competition.
We’ll round off the month in Vitoria-Gasteiz with three underwater film screenings on 23, 26 and 30 November at 7.30 pm at the Florida Cinemas.
Furthermore, from 23 to 30 November, the Florida Cinemas themselves will host a photography exhibition that will allow visitors to continue discovering the extraordinary biodiversity of our seas and oceans.
Four cities, numerous activities and a shared passion: to share the beauty of the underwater world and raise awareness of the need to protect it.
