The award winners will visit us to collect their much-loved txapelas and banisters.
As every year we are fortunate to receive the visit of the most prominent professionals in the underwater image sector. This year many of them will be at the Teatro Principal on Saturday 16th at 19h. to receive the highly valued trophy in the form of our "Barandilla de la Concha".
Below is the list of awards and the winners who will receive them in Donostia:
Golden Banister for the best documentary (REAL SOCIEDAD FUNDAZIOA Award + ONDINA Cruise): Daniel Aldaya and Laura Madrueño, from Madrid. Golden Banister for the best short film (DONOSTIA KULTURA + OCEANIC Cruise Award) On behalf of Guillaume Nery and Julie Gautier, from France, Franck Corbery, from the Almo Films team. Silver Banister for the second best documentary: Enrique Talledo Ruiz, from Cantabria. Silver Handrail for the second best short film, Vicente Leal Juan, from Madrid. White Banister for the best video of the Bay of Biscay (AQUARIUM DONOSTIA Award): Mak Iriarte. White Banister for the best gallery in the Bay of Biscay (GUIF Award): Daniel Landa White railing for the best video with ecological denouncement (WETSUITCARE Award): Isaias Cruz Best journalistic work: (DIARIO VASCO Trophy): On behalf of the French Christian Petron, Andrés Claros and Rol Freeman from Madrid visited us from Catalonia. Special tribute to our underwater image professional with the greatest international impact Rafael Herrero Massieu, who will accompany us during the Cycle. We will present him with the Francisco Pizarro Special Award, together with the rest of the winners at the closing gala on Saturday 16th November. We will also be visited by some of the most outstanding participants: José Carlos Randa Lara (Gold medal in short films at CIMASUB 2016 and current runner-up in the world), as well as Manuel Campillo and Aurelia Artolachipi (Bronze medal in photos at CIMASUB 2018 and current Monkey Point 2019 award).
As always, all events and screenings are FREE ENTRANCE until full capacity is reached. Tickets will be given away at the moment of entering the room.
