HONDARRIBIA takes to the water on 23, 24 and 25 March thanks to CIMASUB
CIMASUB, the International Underwater Film Series, returns, in its 14th edition, to the Itsas Etxea auditorium. It will take place on 23, 24 and 25 March at 19:00h. with free admission, a unique opportunity in Hondarribia. It has been presented at a press conference with the presence of the Councillor for Culture, Juan Luis Silanes and the director of Cimasub, David Sánchez Carretero.
At a time of special importance for the future of humanity in which time is already running against us, with the slogan "Now or never", a cry is launched for us to take immediate action to change our way of thinking and our habits. We are going to show the real situation of the oceans and the problems that invade them without neglecting the wonders that hide the seabed, many of them still undiscovered.
We invite you to take this fantastic underwater journey with us. As always, all events and screenings are programmed with FREE and NUMBERED ENTRANCE until full capacity is reached. Free tickets can be obtained at tickets.kutxabank.es or at Arma Plaza Fundazioa.
The screenings, with free admission, on 23, 24 and 25 March at 19:00h, include a total of 26 short films and 4 documentaries that will take us to underwater paradises all over the planet and show us the harshness of the suffering we are causing to our seas.
The photo exhibition
The exhibition of the best photographs submitted to this year's CIMASUB will be open from 13 to 26 March at Arma plaza from Monday to Sunday, 9:30 - 19:30.
Of the nearly 300 photographs submitted, this year, from all over the world, we are exhibiting the 24 best, including those of this year's winners, Luc Rooman (Belgium), Martin Broen (United States), Tom Shesinger (Israel), Plamena Mileva (Bulgaria), Aldo Gustavo Galante (Argentina), Iñaki Alcalde (Gipuzkoa), among others.
The Underwater Txikiziklo for educational centres
It will be held in the Itsas Etxea auditorium at 10 am on Wednesday 22nd, aimed at children aged between 10 and 12 years old, in 5th and 6th year of Primary Education.
Our children should get to know the sea and discover this fascinating and wonderful underwater world, so that they grow up loving and respecting it. With this objective in mind, the Txikiziklo Submarino was born ten years ago, reaching more and more educational centres, with the participation of more than 2,000 students in the last edition. Dissemination and education are the best tools for saving the oceans and guaranteeing the survival of our species.
